How to convert PDF to HTML

  1. Choose PDF

    Select a text-based PDF with selectable table text (max 50 MB).

  2. Convert and review

    Click Convert to HTML, then review the extracted rows and columns.

  3. Download HTML

    Save one .html file with a semantic table per detected PDF table. Extracted text is HTML-escaped.

Which PDFs work best?

Best with text-based PDFs that have clear, selectable columns. Output is semantic HTML table markup with escaped text. It does not recreate fonts, graphics, absolute positioning, or page design from the PDF.

No OCR here. For scanned PDFs, the text extractor offers OCR text only. Also available: PDF to Excel, PDF to CSV, and all PDF tools.

Example: PDF table to HTML

The download contains a standalone HTML document with a separate table for each extracted table. This excerpt shows the table markup; it does not reproduce the PDF’s original page design.

Example table extracted from a text-based PDF.

Item Quantity Amount
Notebook 2 12.50
Pen 3 4.50
<table>
  <thead>
    <tr>
      <th scope="col">Item</th>
      <th scope="col">Quantity</th>
      <th scope="col">Amount</th>
    </tr>
  </thead>
  <tbody>
    <tr>
      <td>Notebook</td>
      <td>2</td>
      <td>12.50</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
      <td>Pen</td>
      <td>3</td>
      <td>4.50</td>
    </tr>
  </tbody>
</table>

Reuse a table from a PDF report on an internal webpage. Review the extracted values, then apply your website’s styling to the HTML table.
